WORK · MARINE TOURISM

The industry around the dive.

Dive operations sit inside a larger tourism system. Resorts, ferries, airports, boats, weather, seasonal demand, guest expectations, local authorities and the condition of the marine environment all influence what the guest ultimately experiences.

My work has increasingly moved into that wider operating picture.

Resort-integrated operations

In resort environments, the dive centre is part of the guest journey. Service quality begins before a guest reaches the boat and continues after the dive is over. Enquiries, booking, transfers, equipment sizing, course counselling, photography, post-dive communication and follow-up all influence whether the guest sees the dive centre as a professional part of the resort experience.

My current role combines dive operations with sales, customer acquisition, guest delivery and coordination across the wider resort environment.

Destination development in the Andaman Islands

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands have natural diving assets, but a strong international dive destination needs more than good reefs. It needs professional operations, access, clear standards, compelling experiences, responsible use of the marine environment and reasons for the international diving community to pay attention.

My work in the islands has included new dive opportunities, Fish Aggregating Device and artificial reef related initiatives, marine-tourism projects and major diving events intended to strengthen the destination's international profile.

Public projects and media value

The two Guinness World Record achievements in May 2026 demonstrated how a technically demanding dive project can also become a destination story. The events required serious operational preparation, but they also created international visibility for diving in the Andaman Islands.

The media opportunity is strongest when the underlying project is real. New dive experiences, underwater achievements, conservation activity and destination milestones can communicate what a place stands for when they are executed professionally and supported by credible evidence.

Stakeholders

Marine tourism frequently requires work across organisations rather than inside one company. My experience includes government-linked dive projects, training for Indian Forest officials, work with marine biologists, MTDC-linked operational development, and multi-agency coordination around major public diving initiatives.
